This early intermediate workshop will pick up right where our Calligraphy 101 class ends. Students will review their minuscule alphabet and get to work on perfecting majuscules, building words and phrases, and laying the groundwork for an ongoing practice.

You’re invited to dip your toe in the inky waters of calligraphy and hand-lettering or refresh your skills at this special open studio night. Bring nothing but yourself - ink, paper, pens, and exemplars will be available for purchase as needed!

This two-hour beginner workshop will cover the basics of pointed pen calligraphy, from how to hold a pen to forming strokes, letters, and words in a modern copperplate calligraphy style. Ages 16+

You'll leave at the end of the two-hour workshop with the skills to beautify any note: fancy letter-folding instructions, a calligraphy exemplar for future practice, a small pot of ink and a calligraphy pen, and your choice of three wax seals. This class is suitable for all lovers of letters, no prior calligraphy experience is necessary. All materials are included with the cost of registration.
